Design, Display, & Build Quality

The Vivo V27 boasts a remarkable 3D curve design and ergonomics; its sleek and thin (7.4mm) design is complemented by a color-changing Fluorite AG glass back. It’s uncommon to find smartphones with a back that changes color in response to ultraviolet light. The Vivo Y100, which has an identical color-changing design, also sports it.

Just by glancing at it, the extremely luxurious design seems thinner than other smartphones in this market. It also has a matte finish glass back. The Vivo V27 has a sturdy, high-end feel to its design. There are two colour options available for the Vivo V27: Magic Blue and Noble Black.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED display on the vivo V27 has Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), a refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10+, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and 10-bit depth (1B colours). One of the best AMOLED screens in its class, the display quality is clear and bright. For further smoothness, the AMOLED display features a high brightness and a quick refresh rate of 120 Hz.

With its photochromic technology, which allows it to transition from bright blue to dark blue, we were given the Magic Blue colour version. Simply expose it to light for a little while—a few seconds—and see the colour change. These photos demonstrate the vivo V27’s color-changing feature. You can see that the exposed light-exposed area darkens and gradually returns to its previous state.

A USB Type-C port, a microphone, and a mono loudspeaker are located on the phone’s underside. There is no 3.5mm audio jack for headphones or earbuds; a Type-C to 3.5mm converter is required.

There’s another microphone and a Professional Portrait label on the upper side. On the right, you have a power key and a volume control; the left side is empty. The 5G SIM tray supports VoLTE and twin SIM cards, but it does not support microSD cards.

Software, User Interface, & Features

The vivo V27 runs on the Android 13 out-of-the-box with vivo’s homegrown FunTouch OS 13 interface on top. The Android security patch is dated 1st February 2023 on the phone. The FunTouch OS 13 is currently the latest version, is seamlessly designed and optimized for Android 13.

The FunTouch OS 13 has been upgraded over previous iterations and comes with a tonne of useful features and customization options. The software optimisations and 90 Hz refresh rate contribute to the UI’s lightweight and fluid performance.

The interface feels light and the performance is seamless. The UI is responsive thanks to the 120 Hz refresh rate. The FunTouch OS 13 has a lot of new features and improvements that you may customise. You can adjust the built-in gestures, super gaming mode, dynamic effects, lockscreen, UI colour, and always-on display in addition to using a number of other features.

The UI adds a few minimal apps that are optional to delete. In addition to the Google apps, the phone comes pre-installed with Amazon, Facebook, PhonePe, Netflix, Spotify, Snapchat, and a few more from Vivo.

Hardware, Performance, & Gaming

The first smartphone in the nation to run on a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC is the Vivo V27. Up to 256 GB of storage and up to 12 GB of RAM are combined with the SoC. Additionally, it has a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU for graphics-intensive applications and gaming.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC is a quick mid-range processor that uses octa-core CPUs clocked up to 2.8 GHz and is produced using a 4nm TSMC process. Two Cortex-A715 performance cores with a frequency speed of 2.8 GHz and six Cortex-A510 power-efficient cores with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz make up the CPU arrangement.

The vivo V27 comes in two RAM and storage variants – 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage as the base variant and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage as the top variant. The smartphone supports extended RAM feature up to +8 GB which makes a total of 20 GB RAM.
