vivo V27 Pro review

Introduction of vivo V27 Pro:-

The Vivo V27 trio is now official and is rather intriguing. There is the standard V27, which prioritizes the quality of the rear camera, the more powerful V27 Pro, which has flagship-level performance and superior camera quality on both sides, and the more subdued V27e. We will examine the most intriguing member today, the Vivo V27 Pro.

Compared to the V23 Pro and V25 Pro, the new Vivo V27 Pro is a significant improvement. Although they were both camera-focused midrangers, this one outperforms the other thanks to a flagship-caliber chipset and purportedly superior camera modules. It maintains the recognizable light weight and slender design while adding a larger display.

First, the design; it is similar to the V23 Pro and V25 Pro in that it has a color-changing back panel and is still only 7.4 mm thin. On the other hand, the vivo V27 Pro has a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 1080p resolution.

The MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, which is a more efficient 4nm process-fabbed SoC than the 6nm Dimensity 1200 and 1300 found in the prior models—is one of the most significant new features. Significant gains in CPU and GPU performance are available, along with support for additional RAM and storage, a better ISP, and more networking options.

The camera has also been improved; it now has three cameras: an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 50MP OIS main. A 50MP wide-angle lens and autofocus capabilities make up the promising selfie camera, which is an upgrade over the V25 Pro but something of a step back from the V23 Pro’s 50MP+8MP+dual-LED flash front combo.

A 4,600mAh battery powers the Vivo V27 Pro, and 66W rapid wired charging is supported. The newest Vivo software, Android 13 with Funtouch 13, is currently booted up on the new smartphone.

There are a few things we hoped to see, but didn’t happen – some sort of officially rated splash protection and stereo speakers. We think it’s time for the V series to finally get stereo speakers.

And now, let’s unbox the vivo V27 Pro.

Unboxing the vivo V27 Pro

Inside a long silver box is the packaging for the Vivo V27 Pro. The phone itself, an 80W FlashCharge power converter, and an 8A USB-A-to-C cable are all included. Although the Vivo V27 Pro can only handle 66W of charging, the manufacturer doesn’t appear to mind that the phone comes with an overqualified adapter.

vivo V27 ProThat is, of course, not all. A thin protective film and a soft clear case are also included in the retail bundle; the protective film was already on the phone when it left the factory.

Design, build quality, handling

The stylish Vivo V27 Pro smartphone has a cool secret feature that allows the rear panel to change color. Like the V25 and V23 versions, it is a dual-glass phone with a plastic frame and an incredibly thin and light chassis.

The V27 Pro’s two sides curve in the direction of its longer edges, giving it a more upscale appearance but also impairing the phone’s grip. The glossy plastic frame is flat along the top and bottom edges and incredibly thin across the left and right.

Though the Magic Blue light blue on the back glass seems to be less saturated than on the V25 Pro, it is still a color-shifting one, and the unique matt surface makes the entire device resistant to fingerprints. Noble Black, which has no such impact, is another color option for the V27 Pro.

Let us provide some explanation if you are unfamiliar with the series and the concept of color-changing. UV radiation causes the paint to react, darkening its color. Some objects can cast shadows, allowing you to temporarily “paint” them on the back.

The best way to play with this cool panel is under direct sunlight, otherwise you will need a UV flashlight to reach the deep blue color. It’s a nice trick and this reviewer has played for a couple of days with the panel and its effects, but we have to admit – it wears off rather quickly.

We have no information on the protective glass on top of the screen – vivo usually uses Schott Xensation for its models, so it could be that one again.

We would like to commend the redesigned camera housing, even though we have already discussed the rear. Although it’s overly enormous yet more, the brushed metal design with three cameras and ring dual-LED flash make it pretty simple.

Unfortunately, there is no official ingress protection rating available for the Vivo V27 Pro. Although the phone appears to have seals in the most vulnerable areas, we would still keep it out of the water just in case.

Let’s now investigate the vivo V27 Pro in more detail.

The entire front portion is occupied by the new 6.78-inch AMOLED panel, which features uniformly narrow bezels. The panel has an enhanced 1080p resolution and can support HDR10+ and 120Hz refresh rates.

The tiny hole that’s located around the top is caused by the 50MP selfie camera. We hope that the selfie on the V27 Pro will be as good as the ones Vivo frequently provides.

Above the front camera, almost invisible, is the earpiece. It’s so thin that we had to use a flashlight to make sure it’s there. Unfortunately, it does not double as a speaker.

The vivo V27 Pro has an under-display optical fingerprint reader – it is quite fast and accurate, and you can use it even as quick access via some clever software UI.
